The University will commence it's PhD programme in academic session 2021-22. As per the rules of the UGC the admissions will be given through an Entrance Test. Candidates having a Postgraduate degree (with minimum of 55% marks) in any subject can apply for this Entrance Test. Students appearing in P.G. Final Exam of Session 2020-21 may also apply for Ph.D. entrance. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the university time to time.

The objective of this course is to promote original research through the analysis of data and information available in the field of journalism and mass communication. This research course will provide new prospects for those who wish to do intensive study on media industry and its academic streams.

All those students who get admission will have to do six months Course Work before registering as a research scholar. During this Course Work the research scholars will become familiar with research methods and trends of research related to various aspects of journalism and mass communication. During this period special lectures will be delivered by the subject experts to provide proper guidance to the scholars.
