Akhlaq Ahmed Usmani did his masters (Gold Medalist) in Journalism & Mass Communication from Jai Narayan Vyas University, Jodhpur. He did his PhD on ‘Coverage of Arab Countries in Indian Print Media (With special reference to ‘Arab Spring’) from the same university.

He has vast experience of journalism in print, broadcast and new media. He started his career as a journalist with Rajasthan Patrika in 1996. Later he moved to Eenadu TV and Sahara TV as anchor, producer and correspondent. His reporting from the conflict zone of Syria was well received.

Usmani wrote a series on the crisis of the Islamic World of Middle East, North Africa, Turkey, Syria, Egypt and Iran. He has travelled across West Asia including Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Qatar, UAE and Kuwait. He has also visited in the CIS region including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Dr Usmani was invited by the Eurasian Media Forum as a guest at Nur Sultan, Kazakhstan in 2018. He has experience of teaching the media studies in different Central, State and private universities in India.
